SIGNAL IDUNA uses V'ger as a basis for expanding its travel insurance range to include alternative payment methods

Nuremberg, 02 June 2020

The SIGNAL IDUNA Group is expanding its range of payment options in the travel insurance business cooperating with a payment service provider. V'ger P&C Compact, the standard software solution from Novum-RGI for the extended property insurance business, provides the basis for this undertaking.

SIGNAL IDUNA has been successfully processing its travel insurance business for five years through its so-called travel contract service. For this, the company employs the product manager and inventory management of V'ger P&C Compact, while the V'ger Enterprise software platform serves as the core. Novum-RGI has developed this solution primarily as a basic framework for the development of insurance-related core systems for SHU & motor vehicle, life, and health insurance in the international insurance market. Until now, SIGNAL IDUNA customers have been able to pay for travel insurance policies by direct debit.

The implementation of new payment methods will further improve the service for customers. "With our travel contract service, we use a modern and future-proof system. This allows our customers to purchase travel insurance completely online and therefore quickly and easily. With the expansion of our online and mobile offerings to include additional payment methods based on V'ger, our customers will be able to pay for travel insurance with additional payment methods in the future and thus be much more flexible," says Michael Berlin, department head at SIGNAL IDUNA, emphasizing the added value.

"We are proud that we can make our contribution with our flexibly applicable IT solutions," says Michael Kraus, CEO of Novum-RGI.

In the first step, customers can now make their payments by instant bank transfer and credit card. As the next step, integrating additional payment methods will be considered anytime soon.
